Kid Snack Review
Dunkaroos
Cookies with frosting to dip them into makes this kid snack a definite winner.
Kids Say: FUN & DELICIOUS!
Kid Snack Review:
Betty Crocker Dunkaroos
Dunkaroos come with cookies that you dip into frosting, which means these are better than cookies and better than frosting – at least in the eyes (and taste buds) of the Snackin’ Family kids. For this review, we sampled two varieties: vanilla cookies with chocolate frosting and vanilla cookies with vanilla and rainbow sprinkle frosting.
The Dunakroos packages create excitement. Although they only show the cookies, the Snackin’ Family kids were anxious to try them. Once open, though, the visual appeal is disappointing. The frosting appears a bit watery and the package just looks boring.
But looks aside, Dunkaroos are an absolute hit. The Snackin’ Family kids love dipping their vanilla “D” marked cookies into the frosting. They enjoy the taste of the cookies and the frosting – even more so when combined. And, they appreciate the extra frosting that is left when the cookies are gone.
According to the Dunkaroos website, Dunkaroos are a favorite snack from the 1990s that has returned for today’s lucky kids. Dunkaroos also come as refrigerated sugar cookie dough and sugar cookie mix (We haven’t tried these, but it appears they create the Dunkaroos dunking experience with fresh-out-of-the oven flavor.), as cereal and pancakes (These don’t seem to provide the dunking experience.), and as frosting so you can turn any desert into a Dunkaroos experience.. Dunkaroos also come with GoGurt yogurt (instead of frosting) to create a more nutritious variety of this dunking snack.
Dunkaroos are a fun snack, but they’re not very nutritious and not very economical. They’re fun for every now and then, but Dunkaroos won’t become a regular snack for the Snackin’ Family.
