Chicken in a Biskit

Kid Snack Review: “What? Yuck!”

Chicken in a Biskit is a heritage snack, originally launched in 1964. These crackers were discontinued in 2015 but came back to grocery store shelves in 2021. It appears that Chicken in a Biskit crackers have been discontinued again. The Chicken in a Biskit web page on the Mondelez website is currently blank.

Chicken in a Biskit is part of the “Flavor Originals” line of crackers produced by Nabisco, which is part of Mondelez International.

What Are Chicken in a Biskit Crackers?

Chicken in a Biskit crackers are baked snack crackers. They are rectangular wheat flour crackers with powdered seasoning on them. The powdered seasoning has strong hints of onion, and it also includes dehydrated cooked chicken.

What Do Chicken in a Biskit Crackers Taste Like?

Chicken in a Biskit crackers taste like crackers dipped in chicken noodle soup. Sort of.

The chicken flavor is evident. And, yes, it comes from real chicken. But it tastes more like chicken soup than like chicken itself.

Chicken in a Biskit crackers taste salty. This salty flavor is also reminiscent of chicken noodle soup.

Chicken in a Biskit crackers also taste like onion flavor. And, in fact, onion powder appears just before dehydrated cooked chicken in the ingredient list.

The back of the box encourages complementing Chicken in a Biskit crackers with Easy Cheese. The Snackin’ Family did not try this combination, but they did laugh at the suggestion.

Does the Snackin’ Family Like Chicken in a Biskit Crackers?

The Snackin’ Family didn’t enjoy our box of Chicken in a Biskit crackers.

Snackin’ Brother refused to even try Chicken in a Biskit crackers. (Maybe Snackin’ Mom shouldn’t have led with “Try a chicken cracker.”)

Snackin’ Sister took one bite of her Chicken in a Biskit cracker and fed the rest to the dog.

Snackin’ Dad ate one Chicken in a Biskit cracker and proclaimed, “Not terrible. But it tastes like I just consumed all the sodium I should eat today.”

Snackin’ Mom, the one responsible for writing this review, ate a handful while trying to decide what she thought. They’re not bad. But Chicken in a Biskit crackers are not something she plans to ever seek out again. Plus, they left a salty aftertaste in her mouth and seasoning dust on her fingers.

(The Snackin’ Family dogs seem to enjoy the chicken flavor of Chicken in a Biskit crackers, but the sodium content is too high for them. The rest of the crackers in our Chicken in a Biskit box are headed for our composter.)

Should You Buy Chicken in a Biskit Crackers?

If you ever wished you could dip a cracker into your chicken noodle soup and let it soak overnight but retain its crunch, Chicken in a Biskit crackers are for you.

If that’s not you, you’ll probably want to pass on Chicken in a Biskit crackers.

And, of course, if they are discontinued again (which it looks like they may be), you’ll have trouble finding Chicken in a Biskit crackers, anyway.
