“Can I share them with my friends?”

The Snackin’ Family discovered Meiji Hello Panda in chocolate flavor when we had a Costco membership last year. Costco usually sells mega-sized packages, and this was no exception. But we decided to take the risk and buy a whole bunch of chocolate Hello Panda packs without ever trying them previously. After all, they were chocolate-filled cookies with pandas on them.

We broke into the Hello Panda chocolate-flavored snack packs on the way home, and they were delicious. The cookie is a simple flavor, and there is only a bit of chocolate creme filling inside. But the combination is perfect, and the panda stamp on each cookie was fun to see. We finished the mega-sized box of Hello Panda chocolate-flavor cookies quickly… and then our Costco membership expired.

The kids were crushed.

We hadn’t seen Hello Panda in any of the stores we frequent, but the Snackin’ Family kids kept asking for them. Finally, just ahead of Valentine’s Day, we found a box of Hello Panda chocolate snack packs designed for Valentine’s Day sharing.

After Valentine’s Day, we found ourselves fortunate enough to have leftovers, which meant we got to sample the Hello Panda cookies again – a year later – and decide if we still like them as much as we did the first time. The answer? Absolutely.

As we thought before, Hello Panda chocolate cookies have the perfect flavor combination and the perfect crunch. However, in this pack of Hello Panda, every cookie was broken. It didn’t change the flavor, but the leaked chocolate covered the brown panda stamp taking away some of the fun of Hello Panda. According to the Meiji website, each cookie features one of 32 illustrations of a panda playing a sport. We were unable to see that in our recent packs.
