Rockit Apples

The Snackin’ Kids were helping Snackin’ Mom with the grocery shopping when they discovered Rockit Apples in the produce aisle. They got excited by how cute the apples were and begged to buy them.

It’s pretty easy to talk Snackin’ Mom into buying new fruits, so of course she said yes. However – since Rockit Apples are sold in the U.S. in a 3-pound container – Snackin’ Mom was assuming that many of these apples would go to waste. She was wrong.

Rockit Apples are cute. They’re fun. They’re delicious. And they’re just the right size. Finishing an entire apple can be tough for kids, but not with Rockit Apples. The Snackin’ Kids asked for a Rockit Apple in their lunchboxes every day until the container was empty. And then they asked to buy more. (See below for a picture of a Rockit Apple next to a clementine. They’re about the same size, though Rockit Apples are more varied in size than clementines.)

New fruits are always fun, but Snackin’ Mom is sometimes wary about just exactly how they’ve come about. Here’s the story from the Rockit Apple website. “Rockit began as a tiny seed of an idea 20 years ago. While the rest of the world was super-sizing, we did the opposite. We created the perfect snack size apple, packed with concentrated flavor and goodness.”

The headquarters for Rockit Apples is located in New Zealand. For the U.S., Rockit Apples are grown in Washington state.
